Preserving Interactives. Preserving audio-visual materials in a post-broadcasting paradigm

In this study, the current state of affairs with respect to archiving interactive media has been mapped out. It describes the requirements such material presents to cultural heritage institutions. The specific mediality of interactive productions and the analytical concepts necessary to describe these will be discussed. Also, the Dutch institutional context with regard to the production of interactive audio-visual productions is described. Finally, various archiving methods are examined and attention is given to the legal and financial factors that play a role in archiving interactive content.
